Madison Central High School offers many different sports in their vast athletic program. I think it is important to document a wide range of sports for not only the athletes involved in these activities but also the larger school community. As Social Media Producer of Jaguar News Network, I strive to keep the students and parents of Madison Central informed about games and their results.
WRITING
For centuries, writing has been an integral part in a journalist's job. I have been involved in both my school's newspaper and broadcast journalism classes. These programs have allowed me to accrue everything from scripts, articles, and scroutlines to build a vast writing portfolio.
NEWS ARTICLES
For my school newspaper, I wrote a plethora of articles that cover all different aspects of life at Madison Central. All of these articles were features in Madison Central High School's newspaper "The Uproar"
COSTA RICA
In the summer of 2025, Madison Central High School partnered with EF Tours to offer students a round-country trip to the most biodiverse country in the world: Costa Rica. For "The Uproar" I wrote an article detailing the trip as well as the beautiful location.
VALENTINES DAY
Valentine's Day creates a season of love in Feburary of every year. Despite this, the month often has lots of discourse or lovers quarrels some might call it. In my article "Loving Valentine's Day" for Madison Central's "The Uproar" , I detail the history, discourse, and traditions long associated with the lovely holiday.
EARTH DAY
Earth Day is a time many civilians take hours of their day and dedicate it to taking care of the Earth. In my article "Serving Our Earth" for Madison Central's newspaper, I detailed the history of the holiday, some local efforts to promote Madison's environment, and harmful habits.
SPRING PHILANTHROPY
Every year around Spring, the Madison Central Student Government Association conducts a Spring Philanthropy project and calls on the student body to help them achieve their goals. In my article "Springing into Philanthropy", I introduced the 2025 project and what Madison Central is doing to help those in need.
DECEMBER HOLIDAYS
In the winter, many groups around the world celebrate various holidays that have cultural and religious ties. In my article "Celebrating in December", I detail these celebrations and portray the cultural traditions from the testimony of students at Madison Central.
MARCHING BAND
Madison Central High School has a 30-year streak of being an All-Superior band in state evaluations. In my Article "Marching in Space" for "The Uproar", I tell the story of the band's marching show and demonstrate the hours of work put into it from all sections of the band.
SHOWCHOIR
Madison Central High School's show choir "Reveille" hosts an annual fall show called "Dancing with the Teachers". Students in Reveille host a fundraiser by choreographing and compiling a short dance number with their favorite teachers and compete to win. In my article "Dancing with the Teachers", I detail this fun event and encourage the student body to attend.
SCRIPTS
Script writing is one of the most essential parts of being a Broadcast Journalist. They give a journalist an outline to follow to ensure they are able to keep their words both subjective and factual. In my career I have written a plethroa of scripts for podcasts and for JNN's Longform.
PODCAST
Many people view podcasts as just two people talking and broadcasting it to the world via special equipment. However, Podcasts are so much more than that. They allow a journalist to spread topics they beleive need to be in conversation.

LONGFORM SCROUTLINE
For Jaguar News Network's long form for 2025-2026 year, I collaborated with the other producers of JNN (Ainsley Deel & Scarlett Sullivan to create a Scroutline. We decided to dover food insecurity in Mississippi and worked hard to find interviews, film B-Rollm and create a well thought out script.
