About me

My name is Amy Page and I am a high school journalism student who aspires to make a lasting impact on my community. I have been a member of the newspaper staff at Madison Central High School and currently serve as the social media producer for  broadcast journalism program called Jaguar News Network. Additionally, I am very involved in my community through service oriented groups like Madison Junior Civitan Club and student government.

The journalism industry is very fast paced and often entertainment is prefered over humanity. In my journalism journey, I strive to capture the raw and unfiltered stories of the community. Our stories as journalists represent humanity and the earth that raises us. It is our responsibility to portray the complexities of the world: compassion, hatred, beauty, bitterness, and love.

Photography

Through a camera, I want to capture moments of time. The mind can only remember so much but the art of photography allows generations to see the same moments for years to come. Nature has always been a huge inspiration to me in my photography journey. Animals and their habitats are constantly changing and evolving, so I find it important to immortalize the world around me with a single camera. Every moment on Earth is ephemeralm and it is the job of journalists to make it last forever.
